Title: |
| Low dose cytotoxics as anti-angiogenesis treatment following adjuvant induction chemotherapy for patients with ER-Negative and PgR negative breast cancer. |
Summary: |
| The standard of care for some types of breast cancer is to have no further treatment following the standard initial chemotherapy. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of an additional year of low dose chemotherapy following standard chemotherapy. 900 patients at many centres around the world will be randomly assigned (similar to the toss of a coin) to receive either 12 months of oral low dose maintenance chemotherapy after they complete standard chemotherapy or to have no further treatment. This study will find out whether oral low dose maintenance chemotherapy reduces the risk of disease recurrence. |
